Hello,

On the curriculum page, there's a line "Controls X companies, X facilities, X tiles in the map ($X in land taxes)" and a number of prestige points it gives. How is this number computed? I thought it was somewhat related to the X (eg more facilities and tiles gives more prestige), but it doesn't seems to be the case.

Example: in Valrona, Arkhangel controls 4 companies, 49 facilities and 286 tiles in the map. He gets a whopping 928 prestige from this. On the other hand, I control 4 companies, 47 facilities and 344 tiles in the map, but I only get 155 prestige point for this. And Breosa have 4 companies, 50 facilities and 254 tiles in the map, and gets 370 bonus prestige.

We're all apprentices and top the NTA ranking. It does not seem to be related to nobility either (Arkhangel have 350 nobility, Breosa 1000, and myself 100). Does anyone know how is this prestige computed?

You get a base amount of prestige for each building you build,

You get extra prestige for each level you add to a building, for comm i think it is 1 point for each 2 levels or 1/2point per level, i am not sure whether the amount of prestige is related to the value of building or cost of upgrade.

As for arkangel, have a look at his buildings, you will find at least one lvl 200 warehouse, 1 level 31 warehouse and plenty of comm at lvl 20 etc not to mention 8 i think diss barracks at level 10.

Hope this helps.

Ok, it's the buildings level. It would be better if line read "Controls X buildings of Y average level" or "X buildings totaling Y levels".

Yes, I noticed he built some insanely high level wharehouses, and wondered why. After the city stops giving out subventions, I tough he would have destroyed them. It makes sense to keep them if the cost per prestige point is lower than the other prestige sources. Myself, thinking it was the number of tiles that matters, I built a lot of pharmaceutical industries, the largest building I could find, to no results.

It did. Thanks.

Edit: Now that I check, Arkhangel's 200-level wharehouse is actually empty and no goods are selected for storage. It's still open and losing 40k$/h though. Does the prestige go away if the building is closed?

To answer my question, yes it does. Each level of wharehouse gives 3 prestige points (some levels gave me only 2, probably a rounding error), which makes it a very cheap source of prestige at 1M$ per point. But you also have to support the cost of 33 LC jobs per prestige point. Next, I'll try it in a city with no minimum wage for LC to see if the prestige is still here when the wharehouse is opened but nobody is actually working in it.

The level 200 wh is for job support of the city. A city gets a wealth rating. If the UE meets certain requirements it actually gives a boost to comm. That is the reason for the wh.

You manage to get back your 40k$/h in commercial profits? Then I suppose all these players* interfering in Tuleka near your carrefully planned end-of-the-road-so-no-one-can-build-near-it LC zone must annoy you to no ends?  Grin

At the point of writing it is getting near the point of not making a good profit. However you are right in the placement of new comm is nearing its end in that area.
